In Ep2 of All Shades Model podcast we speak to Taryn Harvey about what it took for her to get her visa to work in New York City! For all my international models interested in working abroad here's a quick checklist for applying to get a visa without the help of an agency in your current residence.
1. Find an agency in your desired location willing to sponsor you.
In order to be approved to work in a foreign country you must be sponsored by an agency in that country. Visit models.com to submit to agencies.

2. Apply for 01 visa (celebrity status) H1b
The 01 visa is the hardest one to get approved. Visit the following site to see other options for visas...
3. Collect 7-8 letters from clients, designers, models or photographers that will endorse the work you have already done.
Always keep a good reputation with your clients.
4. Cost of visa 450 US dollars/ lawyer costs (if needed) 3000 US dollars
5. Collect 60-70 tear sheets: Magazine covers, editorials, website publishings, professional runway pictures and any official print jobs.
Print the entire website for editorials, online magazines and interviews, etc.
Hustle!

Never wait on agencies to get you work. There are all sorts of ways to get started using casting sites and social media. Remember to hold on to the work you've done, keep your checks and keep track of your clients. Approval usually takes between 3-6 months.
